Meaning Local: At the hundred, i.e. the county division. Also, 'the bailiff of the hundred.' The hundred is a subdivision of a county, so called either because each old hundred or ten ththings found 199 fidejussores of the King's Peace, or else because it found 100 able men for war. All person fit to serve on juries' were called Hundredors. Hundredor was sometimes applied to the bailiff of a hundred. Each hundred had its independent court.
